Sunny Days toddler areas provide children with plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and engage in stimulating play experiences. The rooms offers a variety of different areas for young children to explore.

These include a cosy corner to sit and listen to a story, a construction area where they can investigate building, a messy table where they can create their own marks and artwork and a malleable area for each child to explore a variety of materials. These static areas enable children to make their own choices and interact with other children.

Staff within the toddler rooms observe each child, note their interests and build upon this by planning daily activities to best suit their needs and enhance their development. We encourage the children to develop independent skills and self-confidence as they are encouraged to feed themselves during meal times, seek to do things for themselves and begin to communicate their own needs.

Healthy physical activity is a big part of the day, even in bad weather, when we get the woollies, waterproofs and wellies on and carry on regardless, making the most of the fresh air and freedom.
